Central Carolina Community College Sustainable Building Workshop
Barriers to implementation of Green Building methods include a lack of real world experience in design techniques, material choices, cost considerations, construction methods and performance results. Alicia and Paul have a depth of experience with these issues particular to the Triangle region and the capability to communicate clearly to the general public and professionals. Information will include existing dwellings and new residences.
Alicia Ravetto has received the SBIC 2002 Best Practices in Sustainability award for small commercial buildings for designing the Rural Advancement Foundation International-USA(RAFI-USA) office in Pittsboro, NC. It is the first office building that received the 2002 EPA Energy Star label in North Carolina. Paul Konove of Carolina Country Builders was awarded the Best Environmental Design from Custom Builder Magazine in 1992 for a home built in Efland, NC. Alicia and Paul have assisted for many years the NC Sustainable Energy Association’s Triangle Tour of Solar Homes.
Come learn from these local professionals in the field of Green Building Design and Construction.
