2650 Sq Ft – Completed 2006

Certified by the Green Home Builders of the Triangle for their initial green home tour. Achieved Energy Star certification.

The site of the home was deliberately planned on this steep slope within the Redbud Subdivision so that the entrance is framed by two large existing oak trees. The decorative concrete floor in the living room was detailed with tile insets. The basement was constructed using Superior Walls, a basement product manufactured offsite and installed in less then a day. Much of the white oak cut from the site was milled – dried and then used for flooring, trim and beams within the home. Built in desks were installed in the upstairs office. The downstairs office was completed with pre-finished wood flooring. Solar hot water was installed on the metal roof prior to completion. Radiant pipes were pre-plumbed for final connection by the owners in the near future.
